Project portfolio optimization is crucial for successful investments in the field of energy efficiency in public buildings. Having in mind financial limitations, the aim of institutional investors, who, as a rule, specialize in this type of investments, is to expand their portfolios through projects that would yield maximal benefits for all users and employees in public buildings, as well as for the community in general. Therefore, a systematic approach is crucial to energy efficiency project portfolio optimization for public buildings. The presentation of the said process, as offered in this paper, is based on the implementation of relevant portfolios worldwide. The paper focuses on a detailed explanation of all phases of the mentioned process, paying special attention to practical implementation.en
