In this paper, we proposed a technique for the synthesis of linear antenna array with non-uniform inter-element spacing. Scatter-search was used in the algorithm to obtain the optimal position of the elements in order to get the minimum side lobe level and nulls in desired directions. The main difference in the relation to other work was in applying objective function with weight coefficient. Through weight coefficients we gave importance of one part of the objective function with respect to the other in the synthesis process. The simulation results verify that by using objective function with weight coefficient the proposed method outperforms the previously published methods in term of suppression side lobe level while maintaining nulls in specified directions.en
