This paper investigates the opportunities that crowdsensing, Internet of things and mobile technologies and services bring to improving life quality and healthcare ecosystem in smart cities. The main goal is to develop a crowdsensing system for smart cities that will encourage citizens to participate in collecting environmental data and solving problems related to ecology and healthcare. The proposed system will enable monitoring of air quality, allergens, level of noise and vibration caused by traffics. Intelligent devices such as mobile phones with embedded sensors, microcomputers, microcontrollers, and different sensors will be used for the monitoring. All the crowdsensing data collected from the smart city will be stored in the cloud, and used by different stakeholders via developed web and mobile applications. The crowdsensing data will be gathered in the city of Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. The proposed crowdsensing system and obtained results could serve as a good basis for adoption and implementation of crowdsensing smart city services in Serbia and other cities and governments. Furthermore, the proposed system can enhance citizens’ e-participation and initiative to contribute to the detection of problems related to environmental pollution.sr
