Digital transformation brings new challenges and opportunities for organizations, particularly in the development of software solutions that support business process automation. This paper identifies the drivers and inhibitors of both traditional and Low-Code/No-Code (LCNC) software development through a systematic literature review and a multiple case study based on user interviews. The collected data were analyzed using a mixed-methods approach, with quantitative and qualitative analyses conducted independently and then integrated. Quantitative findings show that respondents perceive LCNC development as faster, simpler, and more inclusive, while traditional development is still associated with reliability and regulatory compliance. The qualitative analysis confirmed these insights but also highlighted risks such as shadow IT, vendor lock-in, and security challenges. The results indicate that LCNC platforms can significantly accelerate digital transformation, but their successful adoption depends on balancing agility and accessibility with governance and security frameworksen_US
