Abstract: By observing the last decade of supply chain transformation amongst different industries, a pattern of adopting cutting-edge technologies can be observed. Industrial leadersare showcasing how any supply chain can be transformedwith the use of new technologies in a new digital focusedway, that is better suitedfor all of the challengesand opportunitiesthat Industry 4.0 brings. The intent of this paper is to examine the role blockchain has in the transformation process of supply chains, specificallyhow is this technologyused invarioussupply chain processes. The research methods used include desk analysis, a comparative analysis of the literature, and an examination of relevant case studies. The findings show that blockchain can be adopted in an assortment of ways within supply chains, and that adopting blockchain technology enhances supply chaintransformations. Practical examples of the use of blockchain is highlighted as well.
