Development of behavioral biometrics complements the technological progress but is also dependent on the knowledge expansion in the domain of behavioral and cognitive sciences. Its interdependence and inherent interdisciplinary approach impose potential directions of further development followed by some ethical considerations. It was shown that the combination of behavioral indicators and neurophysiological parameters are effective for identity verification and recognition of user state. So, the new scope of interest in biometrics, cognitive biometrics, is established. Cognitive biometrics is an approach that follows changes generated during the process of thinking and experiencing by methods and techniques for characteristic bio signal detection. In this article, the validity and convenience of cognitive style as potential parameter for differentiation of user identity, is analyzed. Its appropriateness is justified by researches of neurophysiological, neuroanatomic and behavioral difference established by cognitive styles. On the other side, the role of cognitive style in the domain of identity identification and verification is evaluated in the context of the demands set before each and every biometric data, and its sustainability is assessed according to the results of the relevant researches. Finally, beside the advantages of this mode of user description, there are some specific restraints leading toward new conceptions and endeavors to articulate complex user profile based on so called digital human model.
