Abstract: Today's global environment characterizes exponential and uncontrollable technological development. The impact of this change depends on the management of technological capabilities. A proper ICT infrastructure could be considered as a prerequisite for exceptional innovation activity. However, the success of the innovation is possible only if the infrastructure is exploited properly, thus, if it is managed properly. This paper examines the relationship between national ICT infrastructure development and innovativeness of a country. The authors observe the problem through the system approach, where the infrastructure is input into the process of (project) management activities that result in proper innovation output. To determine the strength of the relationship, the paper analyses correlation coefficients between ICT Development Index and the Global Innovation Index. The results indicate a strong positive relationship between the observed entities, and deeper analysis of the components is presented in the paper.
