Abstract: This paper explores the use of drones in smart agriculture, focusing on the design and programming of drones for agricultural applications using a simulated environment. The motive for this topic is the need for improvement of the efficiency of agricultural operations and the sustainability of production. The paper provides a prototype drone program and model, developed in simulated environment, that can be integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) system and will enable farmers to precisely control parameters and increase productivity. The physical prototype for collecting sensory data from the environment is also implemented. The used approach describes software architecture needed for development of a drone-based solution for smart agriculture, as well as the software and hardware tools used in the process. Through this research, the paper contributes to the understanding and application of advanced technologies
in the agricultural sector, opening the way for further research and development in the field of agricultural automation.
