Abstract: In modern conditions of life and work, in which different parts of the world are facing an alarming shortage of drinking water, purification and reuse of gray water is emerging as an extremely important option for solving this problem. Gray water is waste water from households and business facilities, which comes from bathrooms, showers, sinks and washing machines. Some definitions of greywater include sink water. Today, it is a topic that is dealt with by many important institutions, such as of the European Parliament, and laws regulating this area have already been passed in some countries. This paper is based on the presentation of the current situation and good practices in the management of gray waste water in selected examples in the world. The aim of the work is to first of all point out the importance of the problem of drinking water shortage, which has affected the planet to a significant extent, as well as to analyze in more detail one of the ways to deal with this problem - gray waste water recycling. The idea is to point out problems, but also potential solutions in the management of gray waste water, from the aspect of legal regulations and practical application.
