There are more and more scientific researches that deal with the problem of natural disasters, and their studies begin with data that show that the strength and frequency of disasters are growing and that their effects on infrastructure, economy, environment, and human casualties are worsening. In natural disasters, disastrous floods stand out, because they are the most frequent type of natural disaster with resulting enormous damages all over the world, as well as the harmful impact on public health, and unfortunately losses of life. This has resulted in a necessary shift toward flood resilience. In response to the flood resilience and flood protection efforts, as well as Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 a clear role is seen in National Platforms for Disaster Risk Reduction and their part in flood risk management. |
