Abstract: For decades, climate change has been one of the main environmental issues that have been the
subject of research by both science and the profession. Another issue is being added to this problem, ie one
that refers to the role of women as a vulnerable group that is more susceptible to the negative impact of
climate change. With this in mind, the authors of the paper conducted a study that included 117 respondents
from the Republic of Serbia with the aim of examining their knowledge, opinions, and attitudes about this
global problem of the Planet. The results of the research were obtained using the software package SPSS 22.
Based on the results of our pilot study, it can be concluded that respondents are generally well aware of the
negative climate change effects on the environment, but have insufficient knowledge about women's
vulnerability to climate change, which implies insufficient knowledge about women's rights and gender
equality. specifically addressing gender aspects in response to climate change and environmental protection.
