Abstract

Gender issues and gender equality remain critical for the advancement of just and sustainable societies in the twenty-first century. This is joined by urgent issues related to the environment, ecological sustainability, sustainable development goals and sustainable development itself. Bearing in mind the importance of gender equality, one of the goals of sustainable development is dedicated only to this issue. The authors of the paper draw attention to this important question through their research. To answer their research questions, a survey was conducted, and the results demonstrated the need for continued work in this vitally important topic. Furthermore, the study findings may be valuable to other researchers, providing them with relevant information on potential actions to improve the role of women, girls, and young women, as well as their perception of ecological sustainability and sustainable development goals.
