Abstract: This paper explores the impact of both the emerging Semantic Grid technologies and the adaptive hypermedia systems, in order to achieve the improvement in human learning environment on the next generation of Web. Our approach is based on using emotional intelligence that might be a greater predictor of success of different human activities then the classical IQ. The questions reviewed in this paper are the following: How to manage adaptation of learning systems when the learners have different emotions, perceptions, reactions? How phenomenon of the emotional intelligence can be implemented on the Semantic Grid? We advocate that building a repository of different metadata for adaptation, which could be used together with appropriate catalogues of metadata for education, could address this issue. In addition, in order to represent certain relations between user traits, on one side, and possible interface settings, on the other side, we explores eQ system, which aims to achieve a kind of emotional Semantic Grid.
