Abstract: Akreditacija visokog školstva zasniva se na velikom broju pravila i standarda. U radu su prikazani opšte prihvaćeni principi i pravila akreditacije na međunarodnom nivou, kao i primeri različitih pristupa evaluaciji i akreditaciji, od potpuno državno regulisanih mera do skoro potpuno slobodnog sistema visokog obrazovanja. Na osnovu iskustava drugih država mogu se izvesti zaključci o tome kako bi Agencija za akreditacija i evaluaciju i našoj zemlji trebalo da izgleda i koji bi bill njeni zadaci. Otvaranje sve većeg broja visokoškolskih institucija, državnih i privatnih primorava fakultete koji žele da opstanu na tržištu obrazovanja da obezbede poverenje i kvalitet svog rada na osnovu koga stiču pravo na odgovarajuće akreditive.
Accreditation of higher education is based on many rules and standards. In this paper, there are given overall princi ples and rules for international accreditation of higher educa tion system. Also, there are presented some examples of eval uation and accreditation systems starting from totally regulat ed up to absolutely free systems of higher education. Based on experience of other countries we may assume which type of accreditation agencies we should have constituted, and what would be their responsibility. Higher education institu tions should plan their future, thinking of winning new stu dents in everyday stronger competition, according their qual ity, and accreditation.
