The paper deals with the furniture industry and its contribution to employment, value creation, export performance and economic development of the European Union. The strengths of the industry are considered in relation to opportunities and threats from the global environment. The focus is on strategic approach to export, competitiveness and growth. The implications of the economic growth strategy of European union to 2020 for the furniture industry are analyzed. |
