E-learning benchmarking: review of approaches, models and tools in higher education

Abstract

This paper surveys and analyzes current benchmarking schemes used for Quality Assurance (QA) in e-Learning (distance learning) study programmes and courses. The analysis focuses primarily on benchmarking methodologies and tools in Europe, but also provides insight in such practices elsewhere in the world.
